Nursing Tops

Well, the baby isn't here yet....  Due 5 days ago....

Thoughts of privacy have invaded the new moms mind... so....

I am making nursing tops she can just put over her head or strap over the baby out of

cotton gauze....

Straight from G Street fabrics.     Cotton Gauze prints and a solid   SIMPLICITY PATTERN 2165

The lightweigth gauze is perfect for breathability for the baby and there is a pocket in the corner, for

nursing pads, kleenex, binkies?.... whatever...

It has straps with D rings.. and a small piece of boning from strap to strap in the center so mom can look down and see the baby.

The first one is done... 4 more gauze on the cutting board ready to sew... and an additional eyelet one.

2-15-2017  BABY is HERE.... waiting all night....

Finished eyelet lined with pink gauze nursing cover and reversible minky bunting, and a dinosaur receiving blanket....

Hopefully they will call soon to say I can come to the hospital for a peak....  Otherwise I will finish the other two nursing covers while I wait..... Maybe a hat to go with the bunting...

Reversible Bunting... Minky and cotton gauze trim

Baby and Mom going home

Made two more nursing coverups for new mom out of cotton gauze

 Two coverups folded and stacked

Plastic Boning is lightweight and is a way for mom to adjust viewing baby with privacy opening or she can lift up the side of the big square

Gauze is very lightweight and baby can breathe through it.

Pocket to put binky? nursing pads, kleenexes, ointment or whatever small things she needs handy while nursing...

Neck strap has D rings for adjusting for personal needs

Pocket can be put on either side or 2 if needed.

It would have been nice for me to make these for myself 43 years ago...Ha Ha..

Hope my daughter can use them or maybe someone else if they don't work for her.....
